Carlton Blues vs Collingwood Magpies

Collingwood – 4 Wins

Last Round

The Blues are on a nine-day break and took care of the Suns last round by 33 points.

The Magpies were tested in their clash to the Kangaroos last Monday, but came out on top to win the match by 30 Points.

Team Changes

A couple of changes for this clash for the Blues with Matthew Cottrell and Sam Petrevski-Seton out of the side. Paddy Dow and Cameron Polson both get another shot at league football.

For the Magpies, they have made five changes with Steele Sidebottom, Levi Greenwood, Trey Ruscoe, Travis Varcoe and Flynn Appleby all getting a rest. Callum Brown, Tyler Brown, Brody Mihocek, Issac Quaynor and Jaidyn Stephenson all come back into the team.

Current Head to Head Odds

Carlton – $2.15

Collingwood – $1.71

Prediction

Based on the recent form of the Collingwood team, this makes this matchup a challenging game to predict with any confidence. The Blues have been ok in recent weeks and come up against a Pies side without a few key players.

The Blues have a shot at the finals if they can win this contest and this match should be close. Probably better off going the favourites in this instance and the Pies have bought in a couple of goal kickers for this clash. The Pies should win games like this if they want to have an impact in the finals this year, but may need this win to get there.

Our Pick – Collingwood (Win)

Player Prop – Sam Docherty + 18.5 Disposals

Collingwood concede the third most fantasy points to defenders this season and Docherty takes the majority of the kick ins for Carlton. Has an average of 19.8 Disposals per game this season and should get a lot of cheap touches on the defensive half.

Gold Coast Suns vs North Melbourne Kangaroos

Last Meeting

Round 12 2019, Gold Coast 11.6 72 – North Melbourne 14.15 99

(North Melbourne by 27 Points)

Last 5 Meetings

Gold Coast – 2 Wins

North Melbourne – 3 Wins

Last Round

The Suns have underperformed in the second half of the year and were no match for the Blues, to lose by 33 points.

The Kangaroos took it up to the Pies, but lack scoring power, and went down by 30 Points last Monday Night.

Team Changes

The Suns have made a couple of changes for this clash, with Jarrod Harbrow and Sean Lemmens both out of the side. Darcy MacPherson and Alex Sexton both come back into the team.

For the Kangaroos, Jack Mahoney and Tristan Xerri are both out of the team, and Majak Daw and Aaron Hall come in.

Current Head to Head Odds

Gold Coast – $1.60

North Melbourne – $2.35

Prediction

Another difficult game to predict, with the Kangaroos having the ability to play good football on the odd occasion. The Suns may not have won for an extended period, but they have been competitive in all their losses and will see this clash as a winning opportunity. The Suns should get the win over a Kangaroos side that struggles to pressure the scoreboard.

Our Pick – Gold Coast (Win)

Player Prop – Luke Davies-Uniacke + 61.5 Fantasy Points

Davies-Uniacke goes into the midfield for periods during matches and spends time up forward. Gold Coast concede the third most fantasy points to forwards this season and the second most to midfielders. Has an average of 67.5 over his last four matches and should cover this number.

Player Prop – Robbie Tarrant + 59.5 Fantasy Points

Getting a lot of cheap disposals on the defensive end at the moment with the Kangaroos choosing to chip it around. Has an average of 84 over his last two weeks and the Suns do concede almost two above the average fantasy points to defenders this season.
