Round 4, 2019 North Melbourne 9.17 71 – Adelaide 8.11 59

(North Melbourne by 12 Points)

Last 5 Meetings

North Melbourne – 2 Wins

Adelaide – 3 Wins

Last Week

The Kangaroos showed some spirit against Carlton last week but eventually went down in the match by 7 Points.

The Crows are gradually improving and almost pinched victory against the Bombers at home with a 3 Point loss.

A couple of enormous omissions for this clash for the Kangaroos with their best goal kicker Ben Brown getting the chop as well as pricey midfielder Jared Polec also getting a week off. Aiden Bonar comes into the side, and the Kangaroos welcome back Majak Daw.

Some Injury concerns for the Crows with Brad Crouch and Tom Doedee out through injury, and David Mackay and Fischer McAsey being managed. Veteran Bryce Gibbs gets another shot at senior football, and they welcome back Rory Atkins, Jake Kelly and Riley Knight.

Current Head to Head Odds

North Melbourne – $1.54

Adelaide – $2.50

Prediction

It is never a great sign when two senior players get dropped, and the Kangaroos have been very disappointing since the season restarted. They showed some fight last week, but Carlton were perhaps due for some bad form as they were outplayed by Hawthorn on Friday Night.

The Crows have shown some fight over the last two weeks and will see this as a real opportunity to finally win a game. A tough game to pick, but the fact that a couple of senior Kangaroos players got the chop may motivate the group. Kangaroos should win this one.

Our Pick – North Melbourne (Win)

Player Prop – Rory Laird + 70.5 Fantasy Points

Laird has played well against the Kangaroos in recent times and has averaged 36 Disposals and 126.5 Fantasy Points in their last two encounters. Might also spend some time in the middle with Brad Crouch out through injury.

St Kilda Saints vs Sydney Swans

Last Meeting

Round 23, 2019 – St Kilda 8.16 64 – Sydney 17.7 109

(Sydney by 45 Points)

Last 5 Meetings

St Kilda – 0 Wins

Sydney – 5 Wins

Last Week

The Saints were very impressive last Saturday Night against the Power and managed a 29 point victory after some dominant performances in the ruck from Rohan Marshall and Paddy Ryder.

The Swans finally got another win, and it was their Coleman medal leading forward Tom Papley that is looking dangerous around goals.

A couple of changes for both sides for this match with the Saints losing Dean Kent to an illness and Josh Battle comes back into the team.

For the Swans, Dylan Stephens has been omitted, and Will Hayward comes back into the team.

Current Head to Head Odds

St Kilda – $1.40

Sydney – $2.95

Prediction

The Swans finally snapped a losing streak last week and beat the Hawks, but come up against an in-form St Kilda side here. The Marshall/Ryder ruck combination for the Saints is beginning to show some form, and they were excellent against the Power last week.

The Saints to finally snap a long losing streak to the Swans, and they are the safe bet.

Our Pick – St Kilda (Win)

Player Prop – Rowan Marshall + 68.5 Fantasy Points

The number here may be a little lower, but Marshall is in some good form and is averaging 74.8 for the Season. Paddy Ryder in the side means less time in the ruck, but he will cause the Swans defenders some problems when he goes forward. Should be around this number even if he plays a bad game.

West Coast Eagles vs Geelong Cats

Last Meeting

Semi-Final 2019, West Coast 10.8 68 – Geelong 13.10 88

(Geelong by 20 Points)

Last 5 Meetings

West Coast – 2 Wins

Geelong – 3 Wins

Last Week

The Eagles look very impressive now that they are back home for an extended period and are now the new flag favourites. They demolished the Magpies on the back of 7 Goals from Josh Kennedy and won the match by 66 Points.

The Cats were too good for Fremantle in wet condition on a Monday Night. They won the match by 32 points on the back of solid performances from their two midfield veterans Cam Guthrie and Mitch Duncan.

The Eagles have lost Jack Redden for this clash to injury and have dropped Josh Rotham. Bredon Ah Chee comes back into the team as well as tall midfielder Harry Edwards who makes his debut. The Cats have made no changes for this clash.

Current Head to Head Odds

West Coast – $1.33

Geelong – $3.35

Prediction

The Eagles looked impressive against the Magpies last week on the back of 7 Goals from Josh Kennedy and a dominant performance in the ruck from Nic Naitanui.

The Cats have a short break coming into this game and have their injury problems. The Eagles are fresh, and it is hard to tip against them. They are playing confident football and deserve to be the flag favourites.

Our Pick – West Coast (Win)

Player Prop – Patrick Dangerfield 1+ Goals

Dangerfield had an average game against the Dockers and may spend some time up forward this week to provide a spark. Does play well against the Eagles and may snag a goal at some stage.
