The Cats tested the Eagles in Round 9, but Josh Kennedy and Liam Ryan found some form in the latter stages of the contest, and they came out on top by 9 points.

The Blues are in a hub out West, and although they were the fast starters in their encounter against the Hawks, they lost the match by 31 Points.

A couple of team changes for this clash with the Eagles dropping Brayden Ainsworth and losing Harry Edwards to injury. Jack Redden is a welcome addition, and Josh Rotham comes back into the side.

The Blues have lost David Cunningham and Harry McKay to injury for this match. Callum Moore has been omitted from the side. Matthew Cottrell will make his AFL Debut and Tom De Koning and Zac Fisher come back into the team.

Current Head to Head Odds

West Coast – $1.25

Carlton – $3.85

Prediction

Wet stormy conditions are expected for this clash so there may be some late squad changes for both sides with some bigs likely to get the chop.

The team that goes in first and gets the football will have the best chance of winning this clash. The Eagles have some goalsneaks up forward who can turn it on in wet conditions, and they should get it done.

This game may be close and expect a low scoring scrappy affair at Optus Stadium.

Carlton was excellent in their last wet weather contest against the Bulldogs in Round 6 and may hang around for the majority of the battle.

Our Pick – West Coast (Win)

Player Prop – Shannon Hurn + 61.5 Fantasy Points

Hurn struggled to get into the game against Geelong in Round 9 and gets the job of kicking out from a behind on most occasions. Could rack up some cheap touches if the Eagles are on the back foot in the early stages and Carlton kick some behinds.

Jamie Cripps + 48.5 Fantasy Points

The Wet Conditions will suit the small forward, and Cripps has some pace and knows how to lay a tackle. Has an average of 87.5 Fantasy Points in his last 2 matches against the Blues.

The Demons were impressive on Wednesday Night against the Crows on the back of a stellar performance from Clayton Oliver. They won the match comfortably by 51 Points and may start getting confident.

North Melbourne was outclassed by the Cats and lost by 33 points, although they did show some patches of good football.

The Demons have made some significant changes to their lineups for this contest with Max Gawn and Jack Viney both out. Harley Bennell, Jay Lockhart and Alex Neal Bullen are also out for the Demons side. Mitch Hannan, Tom McDonald, Jysaiah Pickett, Trent Rivers and Charlie Spargo come into the team.

For the Kangaroos, Ben Brown is out injured, and Lachlan Hosie and Will Walker have been dropped. Luke Davies Uniake, Sam Durdin and Nick Larkey come back into the team.

Current Head to Head Odds

Melbourne – $1.77

North Melbourne – $2.05

Prediction

Boom or Bust for this prediction as the Demons will be without Max Gawn and Jack Viney for this clash. If the Kangaroos can stop Petracca and Oliver, the talent level at the Demons starts to wear a little thin and the Roos will back themselves in to win this contest. They have an advantage in the Ruck with Todd Goldstein which could provide a lot of chances for the first use of the football.

Both sides are on a shortened break for this clash, but the Demons outs are significant. The Kangaroos are a decent shot at winning this clash.

Our Pick – North Melbourne (Win)

Player Prop – Nathan Jones + 60.5 Fantasy Points

Jones has averaged 97.5 Fantasy Points against the Roos in his last two games and may step into the middle with the absence of Jack Viney. Only averaging 56 for the season, but playing more of a defensive role on the back half. If he goes into the middle, he should cover this number.
